MIB Models was established on 1st September 2001 by a life-long railway modeller. Initial trading was via on-line auction sites, dealing in used items. Business grew to the stage where we opened our shop on 26th April 2003 in Porthcawl, South Wales. From then on, new items were supplied, manufactured by well known companies such as Hornby, Bachmann, Peco and Gaugemaster. Since 2003, our range has increased substantially, and is constantly growing and diversifying.
Visitors to our shop – both existing and new – are always welcome, and are usually offered a cuppa, and sometimes a biscuit or two. Advice and information are freely available, and you are welcome to browse at your leisure. We pride ourselves on offering competitive prices.
In 2016, we started selling war gaming items, with accounts opened with Games Workshop and Warlord Games. Again business grew. In 2019, our lease on the shop in Porthcawl came to an end, and the business evolved into a family partnership, with Jonathan specialising in growing the war gaming side of the business. In addition, the business relocated to Bridgend into significantly larger premises opening there on 1st September 2019. This allowed us to hold war gaming and ‘Dungeons & Dragons’ events, as well as growing our ranges and stock levels.
